Alopecia Universalis
Alopecia Universalis refers to total loss of body hair including the scalp. A devastating hair loss condition that is extremely difficult to treat.
The cause is that of an autoimmune skin disease that results in the body recognising itself as an enemy and attacking the hair follicles rendering them incapable of producing hairs.
The onset of alopecia universalis tends to present symptoms of alopecia areata, which are small round patches of hair loss which multiply, expand and coalesce. In cases of alopecia areata, the hair in most case grows back. Unfortunately, in Alopecia Universalis cases the hair may never return.
Like is cases of alopecia totalis and areata, treating such a condition need requires a technique to prevent the body attacking itself. The only recognised method of conducting such a process is to stimulate, using a variety of processes. Even using such methods, the prognosis is doubtful.
