ReflexologyIf you are reading this page you are probably suffering from hair loss or scalp condition and perhaps reflexology has been suggested as a possible solution. Seeking specialist help is of course the right thing to do but establishing the correct alternative therapy for the specific problem is paramount. In case of hair loss or scalp disease advice from a trichologist should be sought in the first instance. A trichologist is best placed to offer advice on the type of hair loss and possible causes. Our team of specialists include trichologists who specialise in all forms of hair and scalp ailments. If you would like to arrange a consultation with a trichologist please contact the help line of your choice (top left of page). Alternatively, you can speak with a trichologist on the phone prior to arranging an appointment. Stress may well be a factor in both hair loss and scalp disease. The services of a qualified reflexologist may well be an excellent therapy to deal with stress issues. We are delighted to offer the services of Tricia who works out of our London Clinic. Tricia has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of reflexology. The information on these pages are designed to offer an insite into reflexology and how it may help you. If you would like to book a consultation or treatment then please contact Tricia the reflexologist on the following details. Tricia will be happy to answer any questions you have on the phone prior to booking any treatments. Mrs Tricia O'Gorman-Dunne MAR Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to effect corresponding parts of the body. Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By applying a technique, a reflexologist can break patterns of stress and tension, improve blood supply and promote the unblocking of nerve impulses and help nature achieve homeostasis. Why work on the feet? The feet are a mirror of the organs and parts of the body. Even the inside of the foot corresponds to the natural curves of the spine. The waistline tightens in as it should. Reflexology is not like massage because: Massage involves tissue and muscle therapy to promote relaxation. Acupuncture, Acupressure and Shiatsu are similar in some respects to reflexology in their use of reflexes or meridians of the body as they relate to the gland, organs and parts of the body. Disclaimer Reflexology is a unique modality in the health field. It’s purpose in not to diagnose for any specific medical disorder, but to promote better health and well being in the same way as an exercise or diet program. Its practice should not be compared to massage or any other kind of manipulative procedure. Mrs Tricia O'Gorman-Dunne MAR
