I have seen many patients suffering from hair loss related to the many COVID Strains with varying severity. So, what should you be looking for? Well to start with here is a list of some of the more common symptoms associated with the COVID 19 Virus.

Symptoms of COVID 19 Hair Loss

So a common symptom of COVID 19 hair loss is a fever or temperature increase. Quite simply your temperature increases often causing sweating and the feeling of hot and cold also known as a fever. The body increasing its temperature to kill off the virus. A simple way of assessing a temperature increase is to touch the chest or back which will feel hot to the touch.

Maybe you are noticing that you are coughing? Perhaps you are coughing more than normal? Coughing may be a symptom of COVID 19 along with many other diseases such as cancer. Its probably nothing to worry about but if you are noticing that you are coughing more than normal for any more than a couple of weeks then you should consult your GP.

Perhaps you have noticed a change in your ability to taste food or that your smell is reduced. Again, this is a common symptom of COVID 19. Furthermore, other symptoms include: Diarrhoea, blocked nose, sore throat, feeling tired, aching limbs, shortness of breath, feeling sick, headaches and loss of appetite.

All of the above are listed symptoms of the COVID 19 Virus. Of course there are many more which are less common.

COVID 19 Hair Loss what to look out for?

First of all, i would assume that you are suffering from hair loss? Perhaps you are noticing more shedding? Maybe you are noticing the thickness of the hair has reduced? Well, if you are then this is something that you should get looked at by a professional trichologist. During the consultation we would examine the scalp and speak with you about your medical history. We are able to offer treatment in many cases assisting the patient to control the condition.
